Data Retention Policy

Overview
This Data Retention Policy explains how long we keep your data and when we delete it. We balance your need to access historical data with data minimization principles.
Active Account Data
Indefinite Retention
While your account is active, we retain all your trading data, journal entries, screenshots, and analytics. You have full control and can delete individual trades or data at any time.
Data Types and Retention Periods
Trading Data
- • Active Account: Retained indefinitely
- • After Account Deletion: 30 days grace period, then permanently deleted
Account Information
- • Active Account: Retained indefinitely
- • After Account Deletion: 30 days grace period, then permanently deleted
Screenshots and Attachments
- • Active Account: Retained indefinitely
- • After Trade Deletion: Permanently deleted immediately
- • After Account Deletion: Deleted within 30 days
Log Data
- • Access Logs: 90 days
- • Error Logs: 30 days
- • Security Logs: 1 year
Analytics Data
- • Platform Usage: 2 years
- • Aggregated/Anonymized: Retained indefinitely for product improvement
Backup Data
- • Regular Backups: 90 days
- • After Account Deletion: Removed from backups within 90 days
Account Deletion Process
When you delete your account:
- Day 0: Account marked for deletion, login disabled
- Days 1-30: Grace period - you can contact support to restore your account
- Day 30: All personal data and trading data permanently deleted
- Days 30-90: Data removed from all backups
Data Export Before Deletion
Before deleting your account, you can export all your data:
- • Trade history (CSV format)
- • Journal entries (JSON format)
- • Screenshots (ZIP archive)
- • Analytics reports (PDF)
Data export is available from Settings → Account → Export Data.
Legal Retention Requirements
In certain cases, we may be required to retain data longer due to legal obligations:
- • Compliance with tax laws
- • Ongoing legal proceedings
- • Fraud prevention and security investigations
Inactive Accounts
Free Accounts: After 2 years of inactivity, we may send a notice and delete the account if no response within 60 days.
Paid Accounts: Data retained indefinitely while subscription is active, even if unused.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- • Request a copy of all your data
- • Delete specific trades or data
- • Delete your entire account
- • Request information about data retention
- • Object to certain data processing
